Terms of service

The agreement for using this site

Effective 2 May 2026 · Last updated 2 May 2026

The short version

This site is informational. Causel is in early access and does not provide a product or service yet. By using the site or requesting access you agree to the terms below. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. If something here is unclear, email hello@causel.app and we'll explain it in plain language.

1. Acceptance of these terms

These terms govern your access to and use of the Causel website at causel.app ("the Site"). By visiting the Site, requesting early access, or otherwise interacting with us through the Site, you agree to these terms. If you're using the Site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these terms on its behalf.

2. Use of the site

The Site is provided for general informational purposes. You agree not to:

  • Submit signup information that isn't yours, or impersonate someone else.
  • Submit fraudulent, automated, or junk signups.
  • Probe, scan, or test the security of the Site, or attempt to bypass any protections.
  • Scrape or copy the Site for resale or for derivative competing services.
  • Interfere with other users' access to the Site.

3. Pre-product status

Causel is in early access. The product described on the Site — including the dashboards, insights, integrations, and metrics — is a working preview that may change before any general release. Information on the Site reflects our current intent and is not a contractual commitment to deliver any specific feature, data source, or outcome. We may modify, pause, or discontinue anything we describe here at any time.

4. Early-access signups

Requesting early access does not entitle you to a particular product, price, timeline, or service level. We may invite, defer, or decline access for any reason, including capacity, fit with our research goals, or your stated team profile. Anything we send you about early access is informational unless we agree on specific terms in writing.

5. Intellectual property

The Causel name, mark, logos, and the design and content of the Site are owned by Causel and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may share links to the Site and quote brief, attributed excerpts (e.g., for press or commentary). You may not use our name or marks to imply endorsement of your own product without prior written consent.

Open-source dependencies used to build the Site are licensed under their respective licenses; we comply with those licenses.

6. Privacy

Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Site you also agree to that policy.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and any information on it are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Causel disclaims all warranties — express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that any content (including example metrics or screenshots) reflects what Causel will actually measure for any specific team.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Causel and its affiliates, officers, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising out of your use of the Site. Our aggregate liability for any direct damages will not exceed USD 100. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those places our liability is limited to the smallest amount permitted by local law.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Causel harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the Site.

10. Termination

We may suspend or end your access to the Site or remove your early-access signup at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have breached these terms or if we discontinue any part of the Site. The provisions about intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law will survive any termination.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be announced by email to anyone who has signed up, at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the new terms.

12. Governing law

Causel is currently operated as an early-stage project by its founder; no legal entity has been incorporated yet. These terms and any dispute relating to the Site are therefore governed by the laws of the country in which the founder resides, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Once Causel is incorporated, this clause will be updated to name the governing jurisdiction. If you live in a jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, those protections still apply to you.
